I've attained the Stormshroud Breastplate now, thanks goes out to Aph, Maj, and Stomp for mats.
I've attained the Helm of Fire now thanks to Ipit's donations of Thick Leather.
Thanks everyone! Please let me know if I can help anyone else with mats.

My goal will be to get ONE of those essences for you before Majin can get the other FIVE. I mean, he is the guild essence whore

Its called grinding until your eyes fall out. But I shouldn’t talk, Maj grinds for them about 100 times more than I do. But man, those stupid elements were being stingy that night.

Yea, this is the one I was inquiring about, too. NICE helm. Gathering the mats proved to be a huge pita for me though. =( I thought AH would be able to provide mats at a reasonable price...nope. I tried farming some critters for the hides.... nada so far. I guess I need skinning to do it. Oh well. Ive resolved at focusing on weapon upgrades vs armor. It would just be nice to be able to hurl a bolt from this helm if needed.

Lol, Purlop The fireball is all but useless, take my word for it. Very little damage, and can only be used once per half hour. More a fun thing to freak people out in duels. . "What the crap, that rogue just threw a fireball!!". As for the helm of fire for MC runs, there is much better out there. Granted, I'm using a helm of fire for MC atm, but I really shouldn't be, lol. The 5 FR is hardly worth it. And Purlop, weapons are your best friends as a rogue. Everything else is gravy. Yeah, you need stats, but without the right weapons, they won't do you a lot of good.

Since I'm farming Rugged Leather in Felwood, I'll see about getting you some hides and thick leather, Prune. I'll talk to you online about when I go on next to see how many you need.

Yea, armor I see as gravy and always have operated that weapon upgrades are THE most important thing for me to do. That's why I didnt blink to scoop up the widowmaker from the AH when I found it for 60gp. ATM, I am toying if its worth buying the shadowblade.... www.thottbot.com/?i=72451.4 swing rate. Only the julie's dagger is better for swingrate that Ive found and usable at 50... 1.3 rate. Of note, I do not like wpns that proc a DOT. I like stuns and gouge would be nullified by a DOT. Instant dmg, tyvm. As to this helm, Im still mulling the idea about taking time to get mats for it. I mean, the time I takes me to get the damn things, I could have leveled, ya know? Oh well.

You are eaclty right about the DOT's, stay away from those. Julie's dagger procs to heal you, yeah, but VEYR rarely. Not enough to really even count towards the weapons value. As for your main hand, you don't want a faster weapon, you want slower and harder hitting but with good DPS. . again, I highly reccomend the Gutgore Ripper Well, until you can get that, Barman Shanker is nice (lvl 50, I think). Bring me, you, and one other rogue or druid that is around lvl 60, we can stealth to the guy and get you one, we did it for Jakani. A lot of lvl 60 rogues actually still use this, cause of its high backstab/ ambush value. Helm, lets talk Ghostshroud. No FR, fine, you aren't doing MC yet. I still wear mine. It is one of the pieces I need to upgrade, but it is still good. I think a lvl 53 item, drops in the chamber of 7 in BRD from the chest there. Also worth going for in a few more lvl's, the Shadowcraft Cap. That would be an upgrade for me, and I am considering working for it. Right now, the items I still want: Painweaver Band (UBRS, I believe), Cape of the Black Baron (Strat, Baron, obviously, no longer as much of a necessity as I got the Zulian Tigerhide Cloak in ZG the other day. . has, I think, 14 agi, 10 sta, +1% chance to hit), and Blackhand's Breadth (trinket, +2% chance to crit. I'm on that quest now, just gotta kill Rend). With the Gutgore and the crusader enchant I got on it, I now have lower overall stats, I'm actually down 25 agi from my Scarlet Kris (+10 agi +10 sta). With the +15 agi I had on it, +25 agi, now all gone. I haven't decided if crusader was the way to go or not, but we shall see. I haven't gotten to play much since I got my Gutgore, been too sick, so I'll have to play around with it and find out. I'd hate to have wasted two righteous orbs on an enchant I don't keep, but I still have faith that it will have been worth it. I now have 3 procs. Crusader, Gutgore's proc, and my Darkmoon Card: Maelstrom. Not sure how often I will equip the card, just have to wait and see. I know once I get Blackhand's Breadth, I'll use that all the time. The question is, do I use my Rune of the Guard Captain (+24 attack power, 1% chance to hit) or that. I think the Rune.

Oh, as for the Shadowblade, nice offhand weapon, imo. LOW dmg per hit = weak backstab/ ambush. Unless it procs a LOT (which I don't think any weapons do), not worth too much imo . . yes, a nice weapon, but like I said, Barman Shanker would serve you better I think. AND its a broken bottle.

Oh the julie or shadowblade...would be for OH. Fast rate with instant poison applied. Bap bap bap...vroom! The barman is a 2.0 swing rate...yea. Ive been eyeing that up, too, but, its a DOT proc which makes me think "Hmm....anything else?" Ive been getting used to CS openers vs an ambush though. The ability to BS twice after a 4 CB KS is HUGELY working for me of late grinding. /big smile

But which is better, CS + 2 BS, or Ambush (higher dmg, higher crit rate, assuming you have the talents) + gouge + BS? You'll have 4 or 5 combo points with the CS (depending on talents and luck), Vs. 3 or 4 with the Ambush opener. I guess for me it just depends who I am fighting. Mage/ DPS types, I tend to go for the ambush, higher armored mobs the CS.

This is quickly going OT.
CS + BS + SS will take about 1/4 of the health of a even level mob for me. KS + x2 well timed BS takes 1/2 the mobs life.
The other quarter is taken during energy regeneration.
I dunno. I like taking the last 50% off a mob rather than fronting the 50% damage. Lil' more of an OMG to finish with a massive dmg dealer than opening to me. I like it...A LOT.
The trick is hitting KS juuust before you tick that last bit of energy regen. This gives you FULL energy for the two BS which come literally within 1 to 2 seconds of each other.
Beautiful! <3

Just different fighting styles, doesn't make one right or wrong. Unless I'm in a group and want to help them out, or I'm in PvP, I find CS and KS to mostly be a waste of perfectly good dmg.
My typical fight:
Ambush to gouge to backstab to gouge to backstab to eviscerate.
Very few mobs survive.
