Well... I use bartender3 for my barmod. It lets you move all your action bars however and wherever you want.
I use Perl Classic Unit Frames to run my unit frames. Also fairly flexible and compact.
I use NaturECB to monitor CC and debuff effects.
EasyCastBar for self/target cast bars that are very visible and movable.
CooldownTimers to monitor my cooldown status
OmniCC to put cooldown times on my buttons.
I recommend downloading movies from warcraftmovies.com and finding ui's that you like to make use of. My ui is somewhat more cluttered than I'd like it, but there's an order to it I'm used to now.

I also use Perl and Natur Cast Bar.
Itemrack is my favourite gear-swapping mod. Some people prefer Outfitter or Wardrobe. There's also ClosetGnome now.
I used to use CTMod, but I find it does some strange things to my party UI.
I suggest Bongos or Bartender as a bar-mod, if you want to move all your boxes around. I never got around to doing it, myself. If I did, I would have #, Shift-#, and Ctrl-# as three rows of boxes, to match my control-keys, and another section for all my cooldown-related abilities, and yet another for combat consumables.
I am a very big fan of Atlasloot (although that's not really a UI mod), mostly as a way to kill time while in flight.

Do the glowing trinkets show me a way home, or simply a glowing path for some one else to follow?
