I had that same problem a long time ago, but I forgot what it was and how I fixed it...
IRQL I'm pretty sure has to do with resources (though its entirely possible I'm mixing it up with something else).
Basically, you have a limited number of IRQs to run your devices. It's okay for some devices to overlap, but some need a unique one.
You might also check to see if you got the correct region for your disc. It's possible you're trying to run a disc formatted for another country or something.

Alright, I think that I got my Blue Screen bullshit fixed, but now I am having a different problem. Vith, should know most about something like this. Is there a reason that I would constantly have to un-plug and plug my modem back in to keep it functioning? This problem has been around since I wiped my hard drive. It has been getting worse and worse too, I replaced my modem today, and I have to reset it about once every 3 hours or so. Do you think that it could be my power supply, or maybe something to do with my USB port? I have to use USB since I don't have the driver anymore for my Ethernet.

Well, still having some issues. I bought some canned air, and went to clean my entire system today, I even pulled my whole cooling unit out that sits above my CPU. Got all the dust out, wanted to make sure all of my fans were running because this morning, I received an error message about one of my fans not running. So I started it up, with my case cracked, and within 10 seconds of startup, I get blue screened. I restarted, and now it seems to be running fine. I wonder what that was all about anyways.

Removing the heat sink is potentially touchy. If you didn't reseat it with a fresh layer of thermal paste the contact between the chip and the heatsink might not be as good as before. Even so that shouldn't produce an error about a fan not working, and while it might cause a bluescreen it would do so regularly, not just once.
Maybe when you put the unit back you missed a wire or put one in the wrong place? That might cause it to think a fan wasn't running.

Well I got the fan issues this morning. Before I took anything apart. And the heat sink had no wires on it, and I am sure I put it in properly.
But thanks for telling me about the Thermal Paste, I thought it was something like that, I was not sure it would be a big deal if I did not put new on, but now I will. Maybe I will upgrade my CPU when I go back in there to replace that paste. Lately I see to be pushing it rather hard, and I find it maxed out performance wise, while my other components are sitting at 30% max.
When replacing a CPU, is there anything I should look out for? And any suggestions on what I should get? Can I throw a 64 bit in there without any problems?

That's all a matter of what your motherboard supports. I can tell you that tossing a 64-bit CPU, even if you're board supports it, is going to do exactly nothing for you unless you also reinstall a 64-bit OS.

Ahh cool, thats exactly the type of info I needed. So yu are saying that I need to buy / install Windows Vista, or could I get XP that supports it?

You can get versions of XP or Vista that support it. You'd need a specifically 64-bit version of either. Even then, there aren't a lot of apps that use 64-bit stuff.
Basically, if a CPU you're looking at also happens to be 64-bit, that's cool, but it's not really a big selling point.
I think Halflife 2 is the only game I've played that has a 64-bit mode.
Oddly enough, my laptop has a 64-bit CPU in it, but the copy of Vista that was preloaded on it was the 32-bit version.

Gotcha. Well what could I do just to upgrade my crappy Pentium 4 (3.20 GHz)that I am using now?

With a P4 you're going to be pretty much limited to getting faster P4s unless you do a complete "guts" upgrade and swap in a new motherboard.
...and you're not going to find many P4s faster than 3.2GHz anyway.

Really? Is it normal to be running at 97% capacity on my CPU when. . lets say burning a DVD?

Also, I know my motherboard is a bit fucked up, it has a dead RAM slot. I had bought everything I needed to get this bitch up to 4Gigs of RAM, but now I realize (after only being able to utilize 30% of my current 2 Gigs) that 4 is not needed.
But I don't know if that dead slot is an underlying problem, or just no big deal.

There are a lot of programs that are able to utilize pretty much all the CPU time available to them. What they're doing with it I don't know, but they do. Burning a DVD is using up 97% of your CPU time, but you can still do other things fine while that's happening, right?
As for RAM... you can only use up 30%? Not doing much gaming anymore or what? 30% of 2GB is only about 640MB, you should be able to chew through more than that pretty easy if you try.

Oh okay. I am picking up what you are laying down! Yeah, my burning program uses that much, and I can still do other things, but just not very well. I have to adjust the "priority level" of the current burn that I am working on. No not too much gaming.
Cool, well I guess my CPU does not need an upgrade, just some more Thermal Paste. Thanks for letting me pick your brain, Vith.
