That's weird... why would it matter if you were leader?

Im not saying i should be...becasue i dont think i should be. Its mostly cus during the summer alot of nights he and I did 5mans together and the grps always did pretty well cus i took like 30+ min to pick the people for each one. I think he jsut really trusts me is all, hes gone through alot of guilds who have tave promised him chances to do things like MC...and then he gets screwed alot, hes jsut lost trust in most people in the game is all.
Dont take it the wrong way Zrog i think your doing better then anyone i know could.

No offence, but I really dont know if I want this guy in the guild then. Sounds like a girlfriend with too much baggage. 'I have been hurt in the past, and now dont trust anyone. Expect you! I know you will love me for ever and ever!'
If he trusts you so much, he should trust your word that big-Z is the man. Which he is.

I dunno... I think I agree with Aph... from what it sounds like he's someone who's skipped around a bunch of guilds, always looking for that "perfect time" to join, where he can get into a good raid that's already successful.
Not to be a jerk, but we've WORKED for our positions and no one promised anyone anything from the start... it's only through spending lots of gold on repairs that we have an MC run at all! And you can let him know from me that if he comes to Legacy, he STILL isn't guaranteed a spot in MC, although he has a good shot, as a priest.
... I think I'm a little pissed when I used to scramble for people and they weren't there to be had, but when we start doing well everyone and their dog / spider / flying bird-thing wants to join us and get "their share" of the epic loot, right away.
My apologies for taking it out on the mythical "new guy" whom I've never met...

I hear ya cluckin, big chicken. I really don’t want an opportunistic type person to roll along and jump in for loot then jump out. And that is exactly what could happen. To think that (before you modded the early run DKP that is) the DKP for being in the whole raid on Saturday was probably about equal to ALL of our previous runs together is mind boggling. That means that is a regular missed that run, but a new person was on it, their DKP would be a lot closer than it should be (IMO).
I realize we are going through growing pains though, and we all knew that this would happen. It just scares me because I will miss the run on the 17th for an office holiday party, and even though it will only be my second missed run (shooting around 80% then or so) , my DKP could be less than someone who has only shown up for the past two. That’s assuming we do as good on the 17th as we did this weekend. There is a fine line to walk between going by the books and using DKP only, and deciding who ‘deserves’ a drop. (case in point would be stomp losing the head piece last weekend if he rolled a 11 and one of the other Druids rolled a 94. By the books Stomp would lose, even though he really ‘should’ have gotten it).
In short, I have hijacked this thread it seems ;P

Actually it might be good to test people out before letting them in on the MC action, to the tune of... "Well we may have an MC slot for you pretty soon, but in the meantime we're doing an Ulda/Gnomer run at the same time to help out some of our lower levels, up for it?". Make sure to really test their patience during the run; don't just let them nuke the place, but let the lower levels do most of the fighting. I'm sure you'll have lots of people who'd be delighted to be conspirators to such a scheme, myself included If they suck it up and help out there, maybe also try 'em on a five man Scholo or Strat to make sure they can actually play and follow instructions. Basically, doing one or both of these types of runs should help weed out the opportunists just after a quick drop, help new people with good intentions and decent skills get ready for the big time, help lower levels with quests, and be a fun run for veterans who might not have a slot open that particular week.

So... how the hell do I do that?
I am getting TONS of applications for the HGA now... Thorgman is the newest person on the channel, although I haven't yet granted him membership... and we have a few more small-time guilds (7 members or less!) that want into the HGA.
Yes, some testing out of the people you don't know, and letting me know what you think of them, would really help out.

It sounds like Zrog's going to have way too many people wanting in to be manageable by my wacky scheme. If our current collection of guilds is sufficient to fill out an MC run, I'd just turn new guilds away. They can either form their own MC metaguilds, or abandon their guilds and try to get in to one of the existing HGA guilds, or just join some other big guild that runs MC. There's only so much you can do, and only so many people you can coordinate. We don't want to burn out our fearless leader

With a larger player base, I think it will benefit the die-hards who would like to run MC more than once a week. If we add people to the HGA with the caveat that they can't run MC on Saturday, I don't see why we can't add them anyway.

Theres currently a really cool druid i know who i have instanced with. I talked to him and told him that HGA is in need of more druids so he is considering it. He atm is in Agony but joined reccently, and they have lots of druids allrdy, so he doesnt ussally get to go. I told him being in Agony was his only problem, but he said many of them are jerks and that the guild doesnt impress him at all anyways. Im hoping he decides to join us. Of course after turning in a application . Hes cool so im hoping he wants to get involved.

It's funny... Heavyfoot was just about to, or just joined Agony, and was pretty much in the same boat.
Frickin' Agony.

You know, I hate seeing people I like going to Agony. As I've said before, I'm sure there are some good guys there, but the one raid I've done with them left a very bad taste in my mouth. I was on their Ventrillo, and there was none of the fun we have, just rudeness to be rude, not to be funny Seriously though, it really did make me appreciate our runs more. I have fun running with LotV and HGA. I did not have fun on that run, at all. I don't think I bothered to say more then three words the whole time, and those of you who know me at all know that is incredible, I never shut the hell up. All I can say is this. Give HGA time. We'll get there. And I am absolutely sure that those who have been loyal and put in their time will be quite pleased, if you aren't already. And those who are new, and haven't run, or are having a hard time getting into our MC runs? Again, please give us a little time. As there are more and more of us, we will be able to accomodate you as well. Hell, we already have enough locks to almost start an all lock MC run

To be truthful, most of the large guilds on our server leave a bad taste in my mouth. Only USL doesnt fall into that category. I am in love with them. I have run AB with them and tried to kill some world bosses. And everytime I party with them, its nothing but awsome. And I agree whole heartedly McG. HGA has accomplished SO much in the past two months, its hard to phathom. And we are only going up from here. And PS, an all Lock run in MC would just be too easy.
