If I had a level 60 rogue, I would spec Subtlety and take the Enchanting and Mining Professions. Then, I would sneak into instances and kill bosses and mine Dark Iron. How many days until Lvl 60? I really don't need to be working on another alt...
I wonder if a Druid would be just as good for that? Probably not... dmg too low.

It is called vanish, by the way, you're right. And it freaking rules. By the way, I'm lvl 57 with about . . 14 days of play time.

Indeed, rogues are good for grinding and other content-bypassing activities. Vanish & Blind can get you out of tough spots, evasion can help you finish a near-unwinnable fight, and sprint is a method of getting the hell away from something, or catching that runner before it's too late. Sneaking into instances to kill bosses works.... sometimes. Often times Blizz has made the encounter so that you can't just kill the Boss. For instance (no pun intended... or was it), Doan in the monastary used to be farmable, but they made the two monks outside his door linked to him. Also, SFK has a sort of checkpoint system, where doors won't open until the boss is killed. Furthermore, many end game areas have stealth-seeing mobs, or large groups of closely packed mobs. I'd hate to see a rogue try to navigate Stratholm. Having said that, it is possible to farm for certain items. I farmed Gnomer's acid mobs for my Toxic Revenger. And stealth groups can be a blast!

By the way, as a 60 rogue, I am doing just that, though not yet the mining part. I'm looking for suggestions on more instances where its relatively easy to just walk in and kill the bosses. I've used WC to get my enchanting up to around 125 in two or three runs (tons of greens to DE, plenty of mats to work with). I've also farmed all four areas of SM for bosses, so I can DE the blues, and gotten some cash from those.
By the way, malex, with Doan, you're right, but killing those two monks outside takes all of 60 seconds, not much time at all, then you kill Doan and walk out. Cath is the only part that requires some time, but I easily take the bosses after wiping all the guys out of the church there. Harod is easy, and I don't even have to vanish after I kill him. Plenty of time to stealth before his 583 cronies come running in (its like when Bush came into the White House, you know the story). Then I just walk by the chumps as they run in.
Any thoughts as to bosses I could take on solo after stealthing to them, higher lvl then SM? I know Uldaman would be too much, with all the adds that tend to come in that place.

Apparently there's some dude in Uldaman out in the mining area that drops a blue, which a Shadow Priest can solo... which probably means that if you can kill the mob quick, his 2 adds probably won't kill you (you can sap one, and maybe blind the other?)
I wish I still had that vid...

I've seen that vid a few times. I'm not sure a rogue can pull it off. A Priest can because he can heal himself enough to keep from dying (Vampiric Embrace gives lots of heals, and popping out of shadowform for flash heals and renew).
But if you're interested in trying, Mcg, it's Galgann Firehammer. Go in the back entrance, and it's a short walk. His drop table has three blues and a couple greens or something like that. Claims have been made that selling the items from DE-ing those can net 80g per hour on the AH. Course, you have to be able to sell them all. If you can't, you can always sell enchants that use them for less than usual and make a killing that way.
