Searching the WoW sites for info is just...well...painful. What a freakin mess.
Anyone have links or can explain the relationship of stats and AP in detail?
I want to fully understand the effects of stats and AP as they relate to crit%, dodge, dmg output. Right now, I have a limited understanding.

Attack power is purely damage per hit, which directly effects both your instant attacks and your overall DPS. I'm sorry, but I don't know the numbers behind it, I just know higher AP = harder hits every time. 1 agi or 1 str gives you 1 attack power. With STR, that's all you get. 1 STR = 1 AP, nothing more. AGI is worth a lot more. 30 AGI = 1% chance to crit, and I believe 1% chance to dodge, 1 AGI = 1 AP and 2 armor.

14 AP = 1dps
Attack power for instant attacks works on a different formula, which I believe is WeaponDamage+(AP*[weaponspeed]/14). Weaponspeed is a constant, depending on which type of weapon you use. Daggers get 1.8, swords get 2.6, maces get something else I don't know.
Edit: After additional thought, that formula for instant attacks doesn't look right at all... the main thing is, more attack power = bigger hits. Weapon speed is no longer a major factor for SS, BS, or Ambush. Hemo, however, is unaffected by the normalization, so slow sword Hemo Strikes can be devastating.

I may be wrong here but its what ive heard.
I think [your lvl / 2] = #agility to equal 1 crit? So if you somehow got 50 agility on a lvl 1 rogue = 100% crit?
I may be wrong, this is jsut what i remember getting told sometime wanted to see if its right.

Yes, Mal, that's roughly true. For level 60 Rogues, however, 1% to crit is 29 agility.

I heard that for L60 warriors, 20 Ag = 1% crit... rogues get shafted a bit because otherwise their % crit would be too high (what I've heard).

No, Zrog, we got shafted a bit cause the lead developer at Blizzard plays a fury warrior.

Oh is that why? I always thought it was because rogues are mostly played by underhanded little shits, farmers, and those bobbing birds (with the real player afk), so they don't get any love because they don't deserve any... and So you're just playing the wrong class, McG... and Purlop too. And Jakani, and... that's it - I'm respeccing to Fury just to piss you all off. Zrog-wonders-where-the-hell-that-just-came-from

By the way, I've quit my bitching. My rogue that I don't play still rules, as does the class. It's just a bunch of lazy shits play that class and don't care about how to do it right.
