I don't think anyone should be too upset with purlop. In LotV, there is the core group, and then there are other random people. The core group is very tight, and have a tremendous amount in common with one another. LotV is an aggressive guild, and it doesn't always work out well for people who aren't as assertive and aggressive as the core group, don't get on TS all the time, and so forth.
So... good luck in EoD, purlop.
And Stomp, I know you've embraced attacking people as a cherished part of your personality, and everyone in the core group understands and accepts it, but it's also kind of immature and tends to partition you off from a lot of people. I think if you thought a bit about where other people are coming from and didn't just post your first reaction, and you didn't take mild criticism of the guild personally, things would go a little smoother for you and the guild.

LOL - Stomp just got LEARN2SYMPATHIZE'd burned by Namtar! Anyway, I think Nam hit it on the head with the aggressive part. Good ole Nam, probably the only one left that has a lick of sense, and thats only cause he doesnt jump on all the time . Honestly, I am glad you went to EoD Purlop. No, not to get you out of here, but I think that will be a place that will help you out a lot more than here does. But we have been over this in many threads, and I have posted several times why I think you and EoD would make a match made in Heaven. I think many of us were just taken back, since you posted that stuff several weeks ago, and then never left. It seemed like lately you were getting in more LotV groups for various things, and your recent posts on this forums reflected that. I guess personally I had just gotten the impression that things were getting better. Either way, its all good. I just wish you would have at least said bye to those that were on at the time But yes, for those that are wondering what they can do to 'break into the core group', here are some tips. And let me preface this by saying that the following are my opinions ONLY, and my not reflect the other members. 1) Get on TS. I know that when we have 3+ people on TS I personally have a bad habit of forgetting to read guild chat. 2) If you are looking to get something done, be aggressive. Making plans on these boards is good, but is just a start. Even asking in guild chat may not be enough, as I know I often think, Eh, someone else will help them out. Whisper some of us! I know often times that is the only way I get off my lazy ass to help out people. Thurgoft will back me on this. 3) Be able to take "herass"ement. And be able to dish it out. Sounds strange, but we give people shit. A lot. Each other. Other People. It doesnt matter. We are talking trash and dicking around. A lot. But if you have a similar sense of humor it will be a blast for you. I realize to some that might basically sound like "Be a jerk". EXACTLY! Legacy of the Jerk ftw! But its the truth. And just because I admit there is a 'core group' does not mean that it is set in stone by any means. Nor does it mean we think we are the good ones. (I mean, shit, look at Malthorn. He sucks!) We are just the assholes of the guild, and most likely the server as well. Bottom line is that you just wanted to get stuff done Purlop, without the dicking around. I respect that. However that mentality doesnt mesh well with many of ours. We manage to do both, quite well actually! But I know that thought is right up EoDs lane. I will quit my ramblings now. Thanks for reading.

I think the part about Mal sucking was sorta obvious....i thought we all knew that?
Doing stuff with Mal is like trying to fit 10 lbs of shit into a 5 lb bag, because they both smell......wait.....meh it works too

Blah blah fucking blah, I got a guy bitching at me who is no longer in our guild and a guy who doesn't even play.
I got a bit upset, yea, but come on, have a little decency and say something before you /gquit.
But maby I am blinded by too much anger and asshole ism to think that would be the right thing to do.
Have a good time Purlop, and Nam. . .Talk to me when you are on line a bit more.
Also Nam, I like you man, but seriously, you stopped running MC only AFTER you got a drop, you /gquit our guild only AFTER we all helped you get a Hide of the Wild. I may be an asshole, but at least people know where I stand.

Yeah about that belt. It dropped off a trash mob my first time into MC. I really didn't know anything about MC drops or DKP or any of that crap, and I didn't want to roll on it. But I had ppl yelling at me to roll on it. In hindsight I should have refused, but I didn't know what a big deal it would be.
I'm never been crazy about MC, but I kept running it until I figured my DKP was at least back close to 0. There's no way in hell I would have rolled on anything else. Some runs were better than others, but the realization creeped in that things would just keep getting harder, and it would require more and more skill, farming, and time on my part to keep up with the group. So I kind of faded off and played alts.
As for the hide, it's yet another thing I didn't realize was such a big deal until it was nearing completion. Then I found out all the farming that was involved and such.
I am sorry on both counts; I understand the game a lot better now.
I'm cool with you and everyone else being loud and aggressive. I suggested things would be easier if you could be a little more diplomatic, but if you don't want to take that route, it's cool.
But if you think I'm just after loot, then fuck you and the kodo you rode in on.

Seriously, Namtar, you are the man. I always knew you weren't really into the MC thing and in hindsight, I kinda feel guilty about trying to get you to go.
I never thought you were trying to be greedy, you just never gave me that vibe. I was sorry to see you go, not becuase you took some loot (I couldn't care less about that in your case), but because you seemed to be calm, rational, intelligent, and funny. Your continuing posts support that assessment, imo.
Just want to make it clear that some aren't pissed about the circumstances of your leaving. After talking to you now and then, it really didn't surprise me at all, and probably seemed like the best thing for you.

Nam: Did you come back and edit that post ONLY to change horse to Kodo? You silly goose you.

Ya caught me, Aph Posting is kinda like taking a test where you remember how to solve that one hard problem after you turn it in. Tauren tend to cause horses to fail structurally, or mount them in inappropriate ways, so I figured the edit was worthwhile.

Hehe. I remember reading it last night, and it stuck in my head. Its nice to see people have a nice, long, well thought out response only to end it with the typical LotV style. And actually that¡¦s not sarcasm. You¡¦re smart, yet took a solid stance. None of that namby pamby lets all be happy bull. ƒº
Then I come back this morning and see your closing statement changed. And the edit wasn¡¦t like a few minutes later. But hours. Like you were sitting there mulling it over. I guess I just think its funny cause that¡¦s the kinda shit I can see me doing.

Namtar - I for one will always respect your decision NOT to raid, and I really appreciate the help you gave the raid in the meantime. Your decision to bow out at ~0 DKP is one that a lot of people like the idea of, but don't actually end up doing - that takes integrity, man.
Purlop - Rottenheart is doing some good things with EoD right now, and he's a good friend of LotV. I hope you find the fun that you're looking for. I never thought someone should stick with a guild if they thought they were a bad fit.

Okay to set some things straight, I really like both you guys, and I don't think that Nam did stuff just for loot. I got a bit upset that you said that you said things would go smoother for The GUILD if I didn't get upset about things, I know that I attack people at times, it is NOT something that I do just for shits and giggles, it is something that took me years of practice to achieve. ;P I am sorry if I make LotV run shitty because of the way I view things it was not my intention to do that, acting the way I do has served me well for many years and I am not going to change because it upsets the "Peace Lovers" that I may run into. Guess what, I am not everyones friend, but I hope that I am on most peoples good list, I piss people off in RL and in game too.
Also, I am NOT upset that Purlop left Legacy, I am upset that he didn't say ANYTHING when he /gquit, I think doing that shows a lack of respect and appreciation for any of the people that my have helped him out in the past. I may piss alot of people off, but I think that I still show people the respect that they deserve.
I know that you don't like me Namtar, and I am sorry for that but I really don't care. I am not running for president.
If you think that I act the way I do because I just want to cause problems, then fuck you and the . . . .umm. . .Honda? Toyota? Scooter? that you rode in on.
P.S. I have passion for things, I am not a "yes" man, I don't like politics. I am NOT a Passiveaggresive type, and I don't like those type of people, if someone has an issue with me I would appreciate it if it would be brought to my attention, I would do the same for them. (thats getting back the the RESPECT thing)
P.S.S. I am not a Intelligent man, I play this game with ALOT of intelligent people, they are more well spoken then me, and I am sure that they think of them selfs in a higher standard, because according to them, they have life and all of life's problems figured out. Do me a favor and go to a peace rally, or a AIDS march, and stay out of my way.

1) Stomp, you don't type quickly, you don't always right off know how to say what you want to say. That does not make you unintelligent by any stretch of the imagination. I maintain my assertion that you ARE a nerd like us, just not one who embraces it like we do 2) You don't make LotV run shitty, quit going all drama queen on me, ya big puss. 3) Anyone who claims to have life and its problems figured out is full of shit and a pretentious blowhard. I do like to think I'm intelligent, but I also don't think that makes me better then other people. I think I have OTHER qualities that make me better then them, lol Seriously though, and I'd bet dollars to donuts I'm not the only one who feels this way, I think intelligence can very much be a curse. It crippled me for a while when I was younger. I saw so much in the world I felt like I should be able to do something about, but it was all too much. I couldn't just go get happy stupid drunk all the time and forget about everything, I got depressed and miserable drunk. Then I finally saw the light. Now I don't give a shit. Which is a total lie, I do give a shit, but its a lie I tell myself, and it gets the job done more often then not.

I dunno Stomp, I just used to go off the handle at people and things went a lot easier for me when I stopped. I don't think you want to cause problems. It's funny you mention politics, and think I'm a hippie of some sort. I won't even begin to go into my politics, but I can assure you my dislike of the standard left-wing social platform surpasses yours by a damn sight. PS, I rode in on a bike, because I don't like burning gas, bikes are cheap to operate and maintain, and I just plain like biking. If I did have a car, it prolly would be a Honda, Toyota, or a scooter, so you nailed me on that one PPS It's probably better if I just move on at this point, because LotV has a good thing going and I'm just rocking the boat. It's not like I'm any big loss anyways. So take it easy guys; I've learned a lot about people by rolling with you.

"We should invite people like that more often, no seriously. It makes me feel so much more superior." Lol, its a warm fuzzy feeling!
Stomp, you do not make LotV run shitty. You know damn well that you help keep it together. Guirk is right, quit being a drama queen, I think I am rubbing off on you too much!
And as for intelligence, you also know thats BS. Just because you dont know 23987 synonyms for the word 'back' (cough, Vith, cough) it does not make you any less intelligent. I am sure you could kick off in most of our asses when it came to anything that involves just about anything from a hardware store.
Nam: You ride a bike? What are you, gay? JK JK. I dont want you to leave man, but if you want to I cant stop you. You always seemed like a good middle ground type of guy. You had feelings, made them known, but didnt fly off the handle in typical LotV style. I know I could probably take a lesson or two in that myself. (Who am I kidding, "probably"?) And even if you do decide to leave, I hope you still visit these here forums.

So, Nam, I take it as a bad sign you made that last post as a guest. You aren't the kind of guy to forget his password.
No one wants you gone man. I know I"ve always enjoyed and appreciated your input, as Aph said, you are very calm, and in my mind, thoughtful and even handed. I may be somewhat on the left side you don't like so much, but never the less, your input has been appreciated. If you do leave, and no longer post, fare well, and have a good life, Nam. May your servers block every attack, and your data never become corrupt.
