Anyone take advantage of the warrior talent point "free respec" to try a new build?
Zrog went with an Arms / Fury build with a dual-wield specialization. I was too excited about Sweeping Strikes that I put points in before I realized that it prevented me from getting Flurry at my level (53)... so I guess I wait until L60 for that.
Because I don't do PVP and don't have a really good 2h, I stayed away from the MS build, although I'd eventually like to try it.
Anyone else been playing around with their build?

i retrained to balance rotten between all 3 trees
before i was only arms/fury
im not liking it...going to give it some time to get used to the new build
actually scored a 3750 execute with the Shatterer shortly after retraining...have not come close since...sigh
thinking about retraining arms/fury and going dual-wield

Rottenheart,
The dual-wield is awesome, and apparently by forfeiting the top of the fury tree (whatever that Blood-something ability is called), you can take Sweeping Strikes in the arms tree. I'm amazed how much rage you can build up with this combo.
By the way, what did you take to balance all 3 trees?
I read something on the forums that suggests that when dual-wielding, you should try for faster weapons (under 2.0 spd) because with constant use of Heroic Strike allowed by the rage-building from Unbridled Wrath, you end up with more damage. However, Dual Wield is apparently worse for PVP, since your burst damage is poor.
I still haven't tried an MS build... I'm kinda cheap re: respeccing...

I think my final spec will look something like this (heavy prot warrior):
Warrior Talents Minimum Required Level: 60 Required Talent Points: 51
Arms Talents - 9 points Deflection - rank 5/5 Tactical Mastery - rank 4/5
Fury Talents - 11 points Cruelty - rank 5/5 Unbridled Wrath - rank 5/5 Piercing Howl - rank 1/1
Protection Talents - 31 points
Shield Specialization - rank 5/5 Improved Bloodrage - rank 2/2 Toughness - rank 5/5 Last Stand - rank 1/1 Improved Shield Block - rank 1/3 Improved Revenge - rank 3/3 Defiance - rank 5/5 Improved Sunder Armor - rank 3/3 Improved Taunt - rank 2/2 Improved Shield Bash - rank 2/2 Concussion Blow - rank 1/1 Shield Slam - rank 1/1
COMMENTS: Note that I actually took LESS Tactical Mastery in favour of another shout (Piercing Howl), and I wanted Unbridled Wrath for more rage generation.
I has also occured to me that 1h wpn specialization might make quite the difference in this build, but I'd have to give up some aggro-management abilities.

Rottenheart,
I find it interesting that you're maxxed your shouts, but skipped some of the high-level talents for 5 points in Prot... you could add +5% crit to axes for those points, yes? Do you find that the Prot points make a big difference in the damage that you take?

Upon further reflection, I've decided that Shield Slam sucks, and aside from using it to dump rage when I build up too much, it's pretty useless. I'd MUCH rather use excess rage for spamming Sunder and Shield Block / Revenge combos than doing a measely 250-300 dmg to a mob whilst in Defensive Stance...
Frickin' waste of points, I say!

i max my shouts because very few mobs will either resist the shout or be able to silence me
also, since i have limited aoe abilities i think its important to get the most out of them so that i feel a little more versitle
as for the prot pts i have not noticed any difference but feel better knowing that i invested something in prot
i use shield slam when i can cause it has a low cooldown which i alt with shield block to really turtle while fighting a caster that alternates melee attacks....
example: in badlands ive tried to solo a named lvl 50 elite dragon with 26,000 hp that mostly spits massive fire dmg...i resist most of the attacks but the ones that do come thru do about 300-500 dmg, after 4-5 fire spits he will attack with claws for about 80-150 dmg, it is during these times that i will use the shield wall and during the cooldown use demoralizing shout...i have not beaten him yet but i get close....would help if i had some healing potions when i fought him, hehe

Rottenheart,
I was talking about shield slam (top of Prot tree), not Shield Bash, which is a standard warrior ability that I use all the time against casters...

I was thinking of pvp respecing as i would like to increase my rank to get some rewards and visit the officers hall As i dont like to tank (i like my 2h weapon), and a shield does not protect from the squishy dudes i was thinking of this: also, i was thinking of just doing wsg since it gives good honor for winning (link for the wow talent tool: www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warriors/talents.html)[glow=red,2,300]Level Required: 60 Points Spent: 51 Arms (reset): 21 Fury (reset): 30 Protection (reset): 0[/glow] Arms Talents - 21 points Improved Heroic Strike rank 0/3 Deflection rank 5/5 Improved Rend rank 3/3 Improved Charge rank 1/2 Tactical Mastery rank 5/5 Improved Thunder Clap rank 0/3 Improved Overpower rank 2/2 Anger Management rank 0/1 Deep Wounds rank 3/3 Two-Handed Weapon Specialization rank 0/5 Impale rank 2/2 Axe Specialization rank 0/5 Sweeping Strikes rank 0/1 Mace Specialization rank 0/5 Sword Specialization rank 0/5 Polearm Specialization rank 0/5 Improved Hamstring rank 0/3 Mortal Strike rank 0/1 Fury Talents - 30 points Booming Voice rank 0/5 Cruelty rank 5/5 Improved Demoralizing Shout rank 5/5 Unbridled Wrath rank 5/5 Improved Cleave rank 0/3 Piercing Howl rank 0/1 Blood Craze rank 0/3 Improved Battle Shout rank 5/5 Dual Wield Specialization rank 0/5 Improved Execute rank 0/2 Enrage rank 5/5 Improved Slam rank 0/5 Death Wish rank 0/1 Improved Intercept rank 0/2 Improved Berserker Rage rank 0/2 Flurry rank 5/5
