Tried WSG for the first time last night... despite the estimated 3 min queue time, it took me 35 mins to get into the instance... I think it's because once you're in you can stay there for many battles.
The map inside is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, and it's a fast game. I think offense is pretty much the way to go for a warrior, as I don't really have any distance spells to stop people as they run away. The cooldown on Intercept is low, and you can't use charge if someone has taken a pot shot at you first (which I recommend people do to enemy warriors who haven't reached the fight yet).
If I get into a fight solo, most of the time, unless I was in the clear, or have the flag, I was dead. My PVP skills leave much to be desired, even just in terms of being able to hit the right button fast enough. I would say that for a warrior, stance-swapping is key.
For anyone interested, stock up on a LOAD of swiftness potions, or magic resist if you can get them. Put on your best Stamina gear, as that's pretty much what makes you effective. I think Int is better than Spirit, because you die pretty fast when /oom, and the game is so fast that recharge time means nothing.
Oh - and don't forget to get into a raid group. And get some raid addons if you can...

P.S.- We won 3 to 2. It was a good fight, though...

According to the forums, WSG is the fastest way to increase your rank, BUT because some people are spending so much time in there and getting so many points, it's becoming really hard for the casual PVPers to get any rank increases.
You see, the PVP rank system IS actually a RANK system, meaning that your contribution points (NOT Honourable Kills - they mean nothing) are compared to everyone else's, and only the people who have increased compared to others are advanced in rank (although I think there are some minimum contribution point limits for each rank).
WSG took about 30-45 mins for me to play, and I only got in for the last flag. It was a well-balanced game, though. I think it really depends on what mix of classes and levels are in there, and whether the sides are balanced in numbers. I've heard that games can be over in 10 mins!

Since WSG is getting attention again, and after going with so many bad pugs, I thought you guys might like some tips for winning.
Winning is easy in WSG.
If you enter with 10 guys, 8 start in defense, 2 go to ninja of the 2 that go to ninja one should be a druid the druid should run back to base not down the middle of the map but rather to the right-hand side where there is lots of plant coverage
The only time the 8 will stop defense is when the druid is under attack, then 2 will stay on def
I was running with Agony this weekend and we won battle after battle after battle like this, even when we were getting wrecked on hks
hope this helps

I found WSG very frustrating. It took forever to play since all the alliance did was camp in their base which consisted of and least 5 hunters, all who shot you before you could even get close. Lousy HK farmers.
I say, let the hunters have their WSG, AB is a lot better anyways, you actually have to do something or you will lose.
