....participated in a few av games, led 2 myself, had them both fall apart when it came to playing defense, and think i may have to change tactics as there are just too many pug players grinding rep to care or beleive that victory is possible...
it appears that an attack (somewhat) on sf will have to take place much earlier than normal; the alliance goes for it first, takes it, pushes ib tower. fortunately, if i get enough guys to begin the assault sh bunker will be burnt and sh gy can be kited before ib tower is burnt
logic: its a long run for them to get to sf, then there is a tough boss to kill there, so lets send enough guys not to take sf but disrupt the alli attack, delay their cap....i was thinking a hunter/mage group to do this
in the meantime we will burn sh bunker, sh gy, then send another 10 to support sf, and the rest to kill belinda...this should cut the field nicely, remove several key npcs, and satisfy the pug that wants sf
once we beat/hold them at sf they may try to sneak thru to ib/sh gy or zerg sf
if they zerg, we form stealth team to take icewing bunker
if they try to sneak ib/sh gy we can split the stealth team (usually groups 7 and 8) to go on defense respectively
one other factor is getting our gathering quests done more quickly
usually a lower level guy is designated to tame wolves, collect hides...i may assign 2-3 guys to do it, with at least one of them experienced at it, guiding the others
the wolves are especially helpful for assaulting belinda or holding off their zerg
there is still much more to iron out and ill try to have many scenarios covered for the next av weekend...i think the beginning is the most important part of the game
another scenario is to skip sh entirely, meet them on the sf side, disrupt their attack, push them back (hard to do with all the npcs around) and push past icewing....this would make sf, then belinda our path north
comments welcome
