Right now Im using 0/47/4, those 4 being 3/3 Elem Prec and 1/5 Imp FB. Im loving my spec atm, its so much more dmg. My fireballs are getting ~100 more dmg non-crits, and with Molten fury, 5/5 fire Vul, and ToEP, I got a 3516 crit last night in BWL, and it wasnt even on the spell vulnerable mobs! That was my first 3k+ one, I cant wait to get more to see if I can get higher ones. I was sad before because I lost a decent amount of stuff in frost, cus I wanted to go more frost, BUT then I realized last night that Molten fury(and another talent I dont remember the name of and Im at school so I cant look it up) effects ALL spells, so Im happy again .

I went with 0/49/2, I haven't been on much to test it out, but so far its seems like a lot more damage, and I really like Dragon's Breath.

On the Shifter, I couldn't be happier, his Rejuve ticks for 487 now, and HT normally hits for 3700 and crits for 5500, and thats without a Spirit buff, when I have more Spirit my +healing goes insane.
On wee Stomp, I am not so sure, yeah we have a bunch more rage generation and all that goodness, but I cant help but thinking we got hosed. While locks get a new pet, and everyone else gets all this summon able crap, and balance Druids can have 3k crit Starfires without trying. We Warriors get more rage. . . .4 more weapon skill, 1 second decrease on MS, immune to disarm, and the cool down of our 30 min spell reduced to 20 Min's. . . .WOW, kinda looks like crap when you compair. My Warrior is no chump, his gear is decent, and he hits really hard. Vith and I had a Duel where Vith used only his pet and Black Book, and I almost lost. . .can we say that Lock are still OP?? YES! Anyways my rant is done, Warrs got hosed, that is all.

I cant argue with the warriors getting hosed part, cus I dont know anything about warriors, but I CAN def agree locks are OP. F**king Locks.

Well, the problem I have is that I like to play a very efficient characters. That's one of the appeals my frost/arcane build has. My only problem is that I feel that all the mages are frost (except Mal and Ash) and am starting to feel a little too generic for my liking.

Right now Ipit is 51/0/0 since pretty much all I've been doing on him for the last little while has been raiding, and on the boss battles I've resorted to arcane missiles due to the aggro ceiling. Having said that, my missile tick for 400 damage and crit for abort 750. That's without using arcane power though or any curse of shadows that may be up in a raid situation.
While it's great on aggro (-60% threat with my current spec/gear) I find it isn't all that mana efficient. Oh well, I guess that's the trade-off. Once the rest of the expansion hits I'll probably go back to deep frost, since I hope that a lot of boss encounters will have mobs that can be frozen again.

I've actually been toying with the idea of going fire, since they seem to have a fair amount of +crit in their tree now, and I love crit. The question I have for the other fire mages is: how has the non-rolling ignites been treating you? Is it still worth putting 5/5 into it?

Hell yeah its worth 5 points, maybe I'm crazy but I really don't notice any problems with Ignite, I still get them all the time. And Ipit fire is soo much fun, hell its worth a try at least.

Wow, they're certainly changed the fire tree more than I thought in 2.0. One of the reasons I like frost so much was the piles of crit you got, 50% from shatter and +100% crit damage made me happy with frost. Throw in frostbite and you'd be laughing when a mob hit you and was frozen in place because of Ice Armor followed by a crit.
Unfortunately once the raiding starts, almost no mobs are freezable and your 5 talent points in shatter are almost wasted if you were a raiding mage.
Now fire's new talents give a +9% crit base to all fire spells along with another +4% crit on fireblast and scorch are making stop and take another look at fire for criting. If only they'd "fix" the ignite problem, then unless almost all the mobs are able to be frozen in BC, then I may end up sticking with fire. As of now, my current spec and gear give me a 21% crit chance with my fire spells.
*P.S. The new Molten Armor spell (62 I think) also adds an extra percent or two to crit.

you guys use scorch much? In leveling my fire mage I've not really made any use of this spell, and thus avoided its talents.
