Spent or I should more accurately say 'wasted' a bit of time running around doing the Christmas quests that were patched today. Scratching my head about getting 'eggs' for the gingerbread cookies. Took me having to ask in quild chat to even get started on that quest for the 5 cookies and milk.
Recipe to make the cookies = Vendor at new kiosk by bank. No sweat
Milk = Vendor by inn keeper. No sweat
Eggs = huh? /shrug. Oh well, I have time and Im sure someone at the bank will be offering them up for sale rather than take time from xp grinding.
Anyone know if the reward is actually worth the hassle?
Sooo, after running ot Thunder Bluff for another xmas quest, I realize it was a time waster and I was chewing into my REST time. I hate when I do quests when there's rest xp. From what I can guesstimate is that when you have rest xp to earn, do NOT turn in quests. There is no bonus message so ya actually LOOOOSE out turning in quests when you could be killing critters and getting that 50% bonus tossed on top of the kill.
With that in mind, I went back to STV and headed back to the Venture Co Camp to the SE of GG. Holy cow, the word must have gotten out that this is an easy grind spot on Alliance chat. Freaking packed there tonight so I was forced to migrate to another location.
Fortunately, I found a camp of humanoids at the North / Northeast part of the regions map. I forget what its called, but they are human L34-35 mobs roaming in a "town" setting. This turns out to be a decent spot for a group hunt for mid to upper 30s since there is a cave here with mobs reaching up thru 40...well that I could see. I stopped venturing deeper into the cave when I was finding mobs stacked on top of each other of the L40 variety. Me at 37 and x2 40s = not good.
Anyway, anyone looking for some new area to hit or xp grind on some 35-40 mobs, this area is a good group spot. ALLIANCE was running all over again, but there were many mobs to be had.
Feh logged on and met up with me to show me his new steed. Gratz on 40 Feh!
We took off for the [Ill call them Z ruins since its some wacked name I cant remember either] that are North/ Northwest of GG. Troll mobs of the 34-35 variety and turns out one of my quests was actually for this location and I didnt know it ... "headhunter". We clipped the bosses, one twice for kicks. DIE TROLL! err..wait, imma troll. nm.
Feh logged so I went down to the beach and clipped mobs for 1/2 a level grind.
Across the water, turns out there is an island with "yellow" mobs...trolls again...witha vendor that sell high end recipes. Alchy, Blacksmith, and some Engineering plans that I can recall atm. Decent stuff that I know once I hit 275, there are 2 alchy recipes Ill be picking up. Seemed all the recipes and plans were 5gp each so I passed on pre-buying them since I just cant support that kinda investment atm with 40 coming soon and Ill be sinking gp for my mount.
IIRC the island was called Jambaya or ...something like that.
gotta 3rd of a level to go for 38, then Im not sure if Ill stick in STV or try SM. Im itching for a SM run for something new and I know its the next dungeon for my level. There ARE still go mobs in STV for me to tap though thru 40 and perhaps 42, so I may stick it out there a bit more.
We'll see.
