Been steadily grinding up my skill by throwing cash at the AH. I've run into a hump at thorium, there's never any in there.  Purple Vithigar needs thorium badly! Also, Shans got Design: Brutal Earthstorm Diamond and sent it to me! I owe her for that. Hopefully I can get some kind of nice enchanting formula to give her. Skill currently 272 and climbing. |

280, now I need azerothian diamonds and thorium. That should clear me to 300 if I get enough.

By the way, how exactly does prospecting work? I assume it destroys the ore when you do it, and produces gems?

Prospecting destroys five ore to randomly generate gems of equivalent level. Works about 80% of the time, else you get dust.
Also: Jewelcrafting 300+! If you need anything socketed, send a tell!

Everything I can make seems to be better, or at least different, then the baseline ones you can buy.
Really though... if I couldn't.... what would be the point?

I've been looking at the recipes on thottbot but right now its a mess, a lot of ? skill items. Is there another place that lists the recipes or could you list what's availible?

Ok, 375 JCing as of... a week ago or so. Jesta link in my signature updated to link directly to a list of what gems I can cut. For those of you with HGA site access there is a thread which lists pretty much every worthwhile BoE I can craft. For those of you without HGA access... what are you waiting for?
Oh, also, huge thanks to those of you who have sent me rare level gem cut designs. Those thigns are a huge pain to find.
