Im practicing tanking more on guild runs and was even the mt for last nights ubrs run....did a decent job i think, the ot was constantly up front though dpsing so that caused problems with having to run back for squishy protection
we would lose a guy on some of our pulls, but the raid did not wipe, much of the run had a sloppy feel to it though
dps was quick on the trigger so building aggro was not easy, even against the beast....i didnt get 2 sunders before dps jumped in despite malthorns call to wait
for the guys who were on the run with me last night any advice/tips/comments/observations would be appreciated

Wish I could have made that run, but, wee... it was late for me already so regretably declined the invite. Looking forward to getting together with EoD and HGA as a whole for runs!

i missed my target more than once as i am not familiar with ubrs and mal was doing much of the pulling
also, doesnt help that half the mobs look like half the raid, lol

Yeah, I also regret not being on a solid UBRS run for awhile. I've had some crappy ones lately.
I think one of the MAIN success factors in raids is having a knowledgeable leader that people listen to.
UBRS in my opinion is all about Crowd Control, and taking it slow. Fight in safe places, pull mobs a long way back if you have to, and make sure people don't move up prematurely. This is a near-impossible task in PuGs.

What seems to always be the biggest problem there for my groups, and most always cause at least one wipe......people dont kill the Fire Tongues first, even when i tell them to.....

im getting a little obsessive with tanking as Im trying to train my guys not to just dps their way thru instances
of course, they ask me for advice and im trying to say the right things but my mentality has never been one of a true tank
do you run ubrs often mal? what did you think of the run we did? im hoping to get another shot at it soon and want to have a much smoother run, show that rotten can be a squisher or shielder, equally adept at both
im no zrog, more like a zr......working on it

Speaking of Zrog, ya just reminded me of last nights comment in hga chat...
Guy asking a question about something to which Zrog chimes in to help. Seemed nothing out of the ordinary 'til another person said "hey, zrog. Arent you tanking a boss right now and you still take the time to help a guy out in chat? Stop showing off!"
Just struck me a damn funny.

was mt for baron run last night and i have to say its the most comfortable ive been as an mt im getting pretty good at it i think
we did not make it to the baron, got too late, but it was a good run
first we ran a 5 man thru a few bosses, then lost a guy, then reformed in a raid
we will rerun it on thurs most likely, hopefully a little bit earlier

Zrog no tank wives... not after that one time...
For the record, I was tanking Garr in MC, and he's not really that hard - unlike other bosses, I don't have to watch my hp bar closely to pop pots in case a heal is delayed, nor am I forced to move when AOE hits, blah blah...
